Project Highlight – We were honored to play a small but meaningful role in preserving one of Lancaster’s most iconic structures. The woodwork surrounding the doors of the historic Griest Building in downtown Lancaster, PA was carefully restored by our team at Cedars Woodworking.

This project required precision, craftsmanship, and a deep respect for the building’s original design. We took great care in restoring the intricate wood details to reflect the architectural integrity of this landmark, ensuring the entrance remains as grand and timeless as the building itself.

About the Griest Building
Standing 14 stories tall, the Griest Building has been a centerpiece of the Lancaster skyline since 1925. Originally constructed as the headquarters for the Lancaster Gas Light and Fuel Company, the building is named after Congressman William Walton Griest. With its art deco style and stately presence, it remains one of the tallest and most recognizable buildings in the city, a symbol of Lancaster’s rich history and architectural heritage.

We’re proud to contribute to keeping Lancaster’s legacy alive, one project at a time.
