With the wind chills below zero this month, we’re all dreaming of Spring! The team at Cedars enjoys building outdoor living features such as pergolas, porch swings, garden gates, fences, arbors, railings, pavilions, outdoor cabinetry, and more! Enhancing your outdoor living space can also include custom millwork such as shutters, doors, windows, columns, and porches.
Cedars Woodworking began the process of replacing old wooden gates for a local homeowner. The original gates had rotted at key structural points, causing them to be both unsightly and potentially dangerous. The Cedars Team was tasked with recreating the gates to be identical to the original gates, as well as withstand our Pennsylvania weather for years to come.
The first task for our team was to calculate and program our CNC machine to cut the radius of the gates. Using our CNC technology, the team was able to create an exact match of the original curve. The added bonus of the curve being all one piece, instead of the original two, will eliminate the weak point in the gate that made it prone to rot in the first place.
Fully assembled, the gates are sanded and are now ready to paint. These gates will receive a shiny, protective green coat of paint. Aren’t they beautiful?
